Bird Photography Hide Workshops West Yorkshire

Bird Photography 1:1 Workshops from a Purpose-Built Hide

Please Check Availability before Booking

These sessions are on a 1-1 basis where I will give you guidance on capturing the best images possible of small birds. We’ll look at exposure settings, focus modes, focus points, composition and how to use the lighting. Bird photography requires practice and the hide gives plenty of opportunities throughout the day. All levels can be catered for including beginners. If you wish to book the hide separately, you can do so via the link at the bottom of the page.

The hide is close to Methley in West Yorkshire. It is close to a lake edge, surrounded by trees and established hedgerows and has a compost toilet. Natural perches have been carefully placed for a mixture of natural backgrounds. In certain lighting conditions there can be some particularly beautiful, dappled backdrops. There is a large variety of birds visit the feeders and the small reflection pool. Sparrowhawks can, at times, can be photographed from the hide as they attempt to ambush the tits and finches. Species at the hide can include: Blue Tit, Great Tit, Coal Tit, Long tailed Tit, Chaffinch, Greenfinch, Goldfinch, Jay, Great spotted Woodpecker, Bullfinch, Robin, Blackbird, Song Thrush, Mistle Thrush, Wren. There have also been other species photographed such as Treecreeper, Chiff-chaff, Willow Warbler, Marsh Tit, Brambling, Kestrel.
