Please Note: Due to unforeseen circumstances the 2019 Iceland Tour is no longer running.

This Photography Tour in Iceland coincides with the height of the breeding season where bird life is both rich and plentiful. Our ten day photographic trip includes one of Iceland’s premier locations for bird photography – the glacial lagoon at Jökulsárlón. Here the icebergs shift – literally and in colour, under Iceland’s constantly changing light; Arctic terns alight on sculpted ice whilst Eiders drift through blue reflections. This is heaven for the wildlife photographer with opportunities for a wide variety of images.
On the south coast we visit a very special site, home to an abundance of Red throated Divers; upon arriving you’ll hear the long eerie calls of these enigmatic birds that make their home on the small sedge lined pools; this is a memorable encounter and a very special place. There will be plenty of opportunities for landscape photography on our travels… not to mention the beautiful Icelandic Horses..!
We also visit Flatey – an island where time stands still. Here you literally step out of your hotel to an abundance of birds. Arctic Terns breed on the island as do the incredibly approachable Redshank and Red necked Phalarope. Snow Buntings flit along the beach and Black Guilemot swim by the harbour. Flatey is a true birder’s paradise.
This Iceland Photography Tour is on a single room basis. You will have a bedroom to yourself, sometimes with private bathroom; some sharing of bathrooms will be required. Please enquire if you would like to book as a couple sharing.
Target birds include: whooper swan, red throated diver, redshank, whimbrel, red necked phalarope, barnacle goose, black tailed godwit, dunlin, golden plover, ringed plover, snipe, eider, slavonian grebe, great northern diver, arctic tern, fulmar, kittiwake, puffin, black guilemot, white wagtail, snow bunting, black guilemot

Hi Paul, in the hope that you’ll be running this trip in 2019, I would like to declare interest. Although my main reason for joining would be for the Wildlife in great settings, I would not want to miss landscape opportunities. Will there be chances to photograph any iconic scenery (not necessarily the most well known) such as waterfalls. Also if you have any further example images, love to see them. Regards Conrad
