Berlin Urban Wildlife Photography Tour

Join me photographing Berlin’s Urban Wildlife and Raptors. A short All-Inclusive Tour for Wildlife lovers and Bird Photographers.

Dates for 2020 to be announced soon.

“Our trip to Berlin was remarkable, I have never seen so many kestrels in one place before and their tolerance to people close by was unbelievable. The accommodation was excellent, better than I had expected, all in all a great trip, thank you.”

Michael Windle, BerlinTour 2018

Berlin might not seem like an obvious destination for wildlife photography but the opportunities are unique. The emphasis for this tour is on birds of prey, particularly Kestrel and Goshawk. Both raptors show incredible tolerance to humans, allowing much closer views than in the UK. We visit an open location for Kestrels that regularly use fence posts when hunting voles on the wild grasslands. One of the most exciting aspects of this photography trip is the chance to photograph wild Goshawks. Early spring gives us a good chance of nest building and courtship activity as we visit their woodland nesting sites – this really is a remarkable experience both for birders and photographers!

During our woodland visits we also have opportunities to photograph tame Red Squirrel and a range of small birds including Tits, Finches and Nuthatch. Hooded Crows are another regular sight in Berlin and also extremely approachable. If lucky we may even see Beavers on the waterways.

We stay in the 4 Star stylish Motel One Potsdamer Platz close to the city centre with nearby connections for transport

This Photography Tour has been designed around reliable locations – specifically chosen to get you close to wild birds. We don’t use any hides on this tour – we photograph wild subjects in their natural urban environment. Whilst I will take my own pictures, your photography is always priority and I’ll be on hand to answer any queries and to make sure you make the most of your opportunities.

This Bird Photography Trip will benefit experienced wildlife photographers wanting to spend time with wild birds and capture behaviour. For less experienced photographers, Berlin offers a unique wildlife experience and a chance to explore the city.
