barnowl05Owls are one of the most popular birds and a joy to watch in the wild. Photographing them is a real challenge and you need a good location to capture successful images.

These Owl Photography Workshops take place on a private farm in West Yorkshire during spring and summer where hunting birds are regularly seen. Both barn owl and long eared owl have been photographed over the years, with Barn Owl being seen regularly. The aim of this photography workshop is to capture owls in flight as they hunt the wild meadows and rough field edges. These birds often hunt the same fields making it possible to get very close views. We will meet around 6.00pm using the evening light for photography. We may stay on until dusk depending on when the owls are most active. Please note that whilst I will take every care to get you close to wildlife, it cannot be guaranteed, however if there is no sighting of an owl you will not be charged. To increase your chances you will need to wear dull or camouflaged clothing and preferably dark gloves. A camouflage hood is advised; this can be provided for you.

The farm is between Leeds and Wetherby off the A58. To book a Wild Owl Photography Workshop please Contact Me to agree a date. Gift Vouchers are available for these courses.

    • Hi Stephen. Once I know the owls are back in their territory I will be able to take bookings. Dates can be arranged to suit through late Spring and Summer.

    • Hi Hannah. I need to confirm that Barn Owls or Long eared Owls are back at the farm, then I will be able to offer evening sessions. Hopefully I can confirm this sometime next month. I will also be running my Little Owl hide from May once the birds begin to nest. You can buy a gift voucher for any price, which can be used towards any workshop.
