Photograph Insects close up on this dedicated Macro Photography Workshop.
This Macro Photography Workshop is aimed at photographers who wish to capture high quality close up images of insects in their natural environment. We visit two wonderful wetland habitats, chosen to provide a variety of opportunities for insects including damselflies, dragonflies, butterflies, hoverflies and bees. Situated in a secluded area of ponds and meadow we first explore the reeds, plants and pond edges for damselflies and dragonflies. We then take a break for tea and coffee before moving on to our second location. Other subjects include roosting butterflies, grasshoppers, spiders and various insect larvae. The group is kept to no more than 3 clients allowing me to give plenty of individual tuition.
The start time is flexible depending on weather conditions. In warm, still conditions we start around 5.30am; on cooler days we will start a little later. Not only does this coincide with lower winds but it also gives us the chance of insects being coated in water droplets from early morning dew. In addition to insects, we’ll make the most of the conditions to capture plants and flowers in close up detail using the early morning light. Photographic tuition will be given on macro photography including appropriate exposure settings, how to use the light effectively and how to achieve the best backgrounds.
These Insect and Macro Photography Courses in Yorkshire can also be booked on a One to One basis or purchased as a Gift Voucher.
