Yorkshire Landscape Photography Tour

Capture iconic views of the Yorkshire Dales on this three night Autumn Landscape Photography Tour. Based in Skipton on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales, we’ll explore some of the most photogenic locations in Yorkshire.

Dates: 9th – 12th October 2017 (3 nights Accommodation included)

The Dales are a unique blend of valleys, famous for the patchwork of drystone walls, hay meadows and field barns. We concentrate on photographing two locations: Malhamdale and Wharfedale, each with very different characters. Malham Cove is one of the most iconic sites in Yorkshire – a huge curving amphitheatre of limestone, on top of which stretches an impressive limestone pavement with stunning views over Malham. Lower down, Wharfedale is unquestionably one of the prettiest Dales and during October Burnsall boasts spectacular views of the River Wharfe as it meanders its way through the quaint village.

During this Yorkshire Dales Photography Holiday you’ll receive personalised photography tuition on composition, lighting, viewpoint, shutter speed and best use of filters. If conditions are good there will also be an optional sunset shoot (you’ll need filters for this). The itinerary is flexible, depending on weather conditions; locations and meal times will fit around our photography. We aim to shoot wide landscapes early morning and late afternoon in good light. Overcast conditions are perfect for seeking out smaller details of the Dales scenery such as close up shots of limestone walls and changing colour of plants and trees; it’s also a good time to shoot secluded woodlands and waterfalls. Evening meals will be taken in good quality restaurants or pubs either in the Yorkshire dales or Skipton. Lunches will be in suitable cafes/pubs.

Rooms can be booked on a single room en-suite basis; alternatively you can book as a couple and receive a discount (see prices below).

Target locations include: Malham Cove, Gordale Scar, Janet’s Foss, Burnsall, Linton Falls, Bolton Abbey

Yorkshire Wildlife: whilst on our travels we are also likely to come across some of the local wildlife: kingfishers and dippers can often be seen flying down the rivers whilst the Autumn woodlands can provide sightings of woodpecker and nuthatch.
