Iceland Photography Tour 2018

Dates: 18th – 25th June 2018. No more bookings being taken for 2018. To join the 2019 Summer Iceland bird Photography Tour visit Wild Exposures

This Photography Tour in Iceland coincides with the height of the breeding season where bird life is both rich and plentiful. Our seven day photographic trip includes one of Iceland’s premier locations for bird photography – the glacial lagoon at Jökulsárlón. Here the icebergs shift – literally and in colour, under Iceland’s constantly changing light; Arctic terns alight on sculpted ice whilst Eiders drift through blue reflections. This is heaven for the wildlife photographer with opportunities for a wide variety of images. We also photograph the fabulous wildlife at Dyrholaey Cliffs, home to Atlantic Puffins and Snow Bunting.

This tour is for a maximum of just four clients, ensuring plenty of individual attention. The trip will be co-led by Shelley Knight (LRPS)  Between us we have visited Iceland over ten times!

On the south coast we visit a very special site, home to an abundance of Red throated Divers; upon arriving you’ll hear the long eerie calls of these enigmatic birds that make their home on the small sedge lined pools; this is a memorable encounter and a very special place. We also have the option of visiting the Reykjanes Peninsua targeting Whimbrel and Snipe on the stone walls and ducks in quiet inlet bays. We will see many other birds on our travelsand there will be plenty of opportunities for landscape photography… not to mention the beautiful Icelandic Horses..!

  1. Hi Paul, in the hope that you’ll be running this trip in 2019, I would like to declare interest. Although my main reason for joining would be for the Wildlife in great settings, I would not want to miss landscape opportunities. Will there be chances to photograph any iconic scenery (not necessarily the most well known) such as waterfalls. Also if you have any further example images, love to see them. Regards Conrad
